i make dirt look good

I’m Sandy, a maker of colorful, everyday objects with a touch of drama and a lot of heart.

I first practiced ceramics while earning my BA in Art History. Decades later, early motherhood brought me back to clay—a perfect outlet for patience, timing, and all the little lessons a young parent needs. I’m indebted to Delores Farmer’s studio for helping me with this return.

I’m lucky to create around my day job in my own Durham, NC basement studio. When I’m not in the studio, I’m exploring a new hobby (whatever that happens to be!), enjoying life with my wonderful family, or wandering the garden, another place where ordinary dirt can become something extraordinary.
